Shumba Arts comes to CommuniTree Festival 2026!

We’re so pleased to welcome Alan and Denise from Shumba Arts to Nottingham as part of CommuniTree Festival 2026.

They’ll be bringing a beautiful day of West African dance, djembe rhythms, song, kora music and drumming, creating space for people to move, play, listen and connect.

Shumba Arts are known for their joyful, hands-on approach to African music and dance, helping people of all abilities feel part of the rhythm. Their work brings people together through music, movement and shared celebration.

Throughout the day, participants will be invited to explore rhythm and dance in a welcoming way, with no experience needed. It’s about joining in, feeling the music, connecting with others and celebrating what we can create together.

The day will end with a special closing celebration, honouring everyone’s energy, effort and success.

We’re really looking forward to welcoming Shumba Arts to CommuniTree Festival and sharing this powerful day of rhythm, culture and connection.
